I am proud to present to you my collector's signature line of tees - “Under a Different Sun by Albert OH for Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas”. The first artist signature series ever, launched exclusively by the Hard Rock Store in Las Vegas. And because it is official Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas merchandise, it is a collectible. They are my love letters to the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas, its heritage and the music that has served as the soundtrack to my life. The hotel has always been my home away from home, and I have always felt there is a story to be told, visually about “hotel lore” in itself. People come to Las Vegas for the “sun”, the sights, the nightlife, etc. Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas has always been different. In a city full of high rise properties and expected glitz and glamour, the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas still outshines under its own light. When I look at the iconic logo, the circle around the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas logotype to me is the sun, beaming its rays of energy to anyone who gazes upon it. Hence, we are “Under a Different Sun.” My hope is to reconnect the Hard Rock’s founding culture into the merchandise, while communicating and connecting the universal emotions of music to move the person that dons the t-shirts. Like the memorabilia lined walls, each piece of my collection has a personal story printed inside.
It is with this that I also pay homage to the original Hard Rock heritage and a bit of my personal flavor of music. Its roots are in the sands of the desert and on the streets of London in a continetnal cool sort of way. And there is nothing like good music and lyrics to inspire and further feed the culture. I had the pleasure of working with seasoned rock photographer, Maryanne Bilham, whose depth of photographic experience captured that life feeling during the shoot at the hotel. These photos are now immortalized on the merch designs. Hotel rooms are a place of relaxation, reflection, where time stands still. And it doesn’t matter if you are a tourist, a gambler, or David Bowie - you feel the rockstar aura the minute you step into this place. Each room is a personal sanctuary before that night out, and a refuge after that gig. Within the rooms, the concert venues, the memorabilia lined halls, there is a living soul that is perpetually growing, and the spirit to be a rockstar and shine is in every one of us.
